A dedicated group of people have banded together and demanded that we acknowledge the worst review of 2004. So, according to the voting, here it is:
The only nomination received in this specially-added category was for Daniel Emery’s review of OutRun 2 which was printed in The Times (or “The London Times” if you’re American) last year. Claiming the game was “simple”, “dumbed-down” and “shallow” instead of congratulating the outstanding arcade handling missed the point by several leagues. It’s not a five-star game, but giving OutRun 2 one star out of five on the same page that the tedious The Sims 2 and the awful Silent Hill 4: The Room scored three stars each doesn’t look great.
We would have suggested the OXM “review” of HeadHunter Redemption, but these are your awards, even if there were outside influences.
