The Scottish Games Industry & Video Games Live

Some normal news, for once. First off, the Consolevania guys have made a video about the games industry in Scotland. We didn't watch it all, what with it being the best part of an hour long, but you can see it for yourself in the little video box thing:

If you're still in the mood for proper news without moaning and bitching, you might be interested to know that there's going to be another concert where excellent games music is played live to sweaty geeks in Transformers T-shirts. Here's the press release:

“Brought to London by [a filthy corporate sponsor], the Video Games Live concert will celebrate the most memorable music from the biggest video games (Halo, Mario, Zelda, Warcraft and Final Fantasy and many more) with the prestigious Philamonia [they mean Philharmonia] orchestra. It is happening at the Royal Festival Hall on 22nd October 2007, at 7.30pm. Tickets can be bought from the Royal Festival Hall box office on 0871 663 2500, or

They forgot to mention the ticket prices which range from £19.50 for standing behind a pillar next to the bogs, up to £32.50 for a view up the conductor’s nostrils.

Cool, a news update, just like a proper games site and everything. Is this a new direction, Rammy? Will we soon be seeing some EA ads?
